Machine Quilting

I have been really busy with my business (http://www.finishedfibers.com/), but I decided to try a quilting challenge in my spare time with The Badass Quilter’s Society blog.  The challenge was to create a quilt or quilted item from Moda Grunge fabrics and some sassy gold pleather to celebrate the Rocky Horror Picture Show!  I decided a quilted corset was in order (Even though my skills do not really run in the clothing vein.), and my project photos are below!  You can vote for your favorite Rocky Horror Picture Show quilted item starting on March 24 here:  http://www.badassquilterssociety.com/  Just click on the big red lips to see what else is on the slab…

“Mermaid” is a recently completed project in which I experimented with fabric paint, organza ribbon, and machine quilting!  I really enjoyed this tiny project, and I love the effect of the ribbon.  I painted her first, and then I placed the ribbon and quilted over it to make her scales.
